Building custom WordPress child themes for the Genesis framework is one of my specialties, so I knew that I had to build a custom child theme for my own website. The child theme uses custom templates and loops to display my portfolio of work in a neat and tidy grid. I designed it to utilize the power of a content management system (CMS) without looking like a traditional blog. Like most websites that utilize a CMS, the site is database-driven. I created it with one specific requirement: easy to maintain! I didn’t want to build the site and later come to find site maintenance becoming the bulk of my weekly workload. The site also showcases some fun CSS tricks and is fully responsive, so my mobile audience isn’t left wanting.
